Zinc

Zinc is dosed in milligrams and sold as picolinate, gluconate, citrate, bisglycinate and oxide, with lozenges forming their own sub-group alongside capsules and tablets. The form is on the panel rather than the front.

As with other minerals, check whether the stated milligrams describe elemental zinc or the whole compound. Serving size matters too — some products count two tablets as one serving, which doubles the front-label figure.

Related: magnesium, iron, multivitamins, and all minerals.
